Vice President and Minister of Finance, Ndaba Gaolathe, has outlined the new government’s plans to revive the economy.
Delivering a statement on the state of public accounts in Parliament on Thursday, Gaolathe revealed that they are courting mega-investments and engaging foreign investors to bring business to Botswana. He highlighted plans to reform and redesign budgeting systems, proposing long-term solutions to issues within the Government Accounting and Budgeting System (GABS), while emphasizing the importance of improved transparency and stakeholder consultations.
The Minister also stated that the government will review its expenditure and finalize revisions to public finance management.
