Two Sworn in As Judicial Service Commissioners

President Advocate Duma Gideon Boko has today sworn in two members of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

The duo, namely Grace Muzila and Kabo Motswagole, were recommended by the Law Society of Botswana.

The JSC, as established in statute, serves to assess and recommend officers to be hired for judicial posts. As per the existing legal framework, although judicial appointments are made by the President, they come at the recommendation of the JSC.

Muzila, hailed for her down to earth demeanour and being result driven, has served under numerous capacities in government with her last senior public office post being the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health. Previously, she served as Permanent Secretary at Basic Education, Secretary for Development and Budget at the Ministry of Finance. She was also at one point National AIDS Coordinating Agency (NACA) coordinator, now called the National AIDS & Health Promotion Agency (NAHP), amongst her other roles

On the other hand, Motswagole is a prominent Attorney at Law who has excelled as human rights attorney, law scholar, and writer. He recently chaired the Task Team, which was appointed by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure to look into the Development Manager(DM) model.
