Botswana President Boko Set to Launch Indigenous Languages Use on State Media

In a move anticipated to promote culture and usage of Indigenous languages in Botswana, President Advocate Duma Gideon Boko is this morning set to officiate at the launch of the Indigenous languages bulletins.

The launch will see the national broadcaster-Botswana Television (BTV) and Radio Botswana, include languages such as Shekgalagari, Sheyei, Ikalanga and Naro.

This move is anticipated to bring about inclusivity and diversity in media as well as promote and protect heritage as language forms a critical component of national identity.
