Zunaid Moti to Distribute 6,000 Soccer Balls to Children Across Botswana

Thousands of children and communities across Botswana are set to benefit from a major soccer ball donation initiative spearheaded by businessman Zunaid Moti ahead of a busy weekend of events in the capital.

Whilst in Botswana, Moti is expected to distribute 6,000 soccer balls to children and communities across the country, with the initiative designed to put sporting equipment directly into the hands of children who will benefit from and enjoy it.

As part of the initiative, 4,000 soccer balls will be delivered on Thursday, September 3, to children at five schools across Gaborone. The remaining 2,000 balls will be distributed through community partners and various activities in the days that follow.

The initiative forms part of activities taking place ahead of two major events in Botswana being the FuturExotics Gaborone Motor Show and the official launch of African Hero.

Therefore, schools, children’s organisations, charities and communities in need have been identified as potential beneficiaries, with the initiative encouraging partners to use their knowledge of local communities to determine where the balls can have the greatest impact.

The donation drive comes as Botswana braces for an eventful weekend, with the FuturExotics Gaborone Motor Show expected to attract motoring enthusiasts and the official launch of African Hero scheduled to take place on Saturday.

The soccer ball initiative adds a community-focused dimension to the weekend’s activities, placing children and grassroots participation at the centre of efforts to create a positive social impact.

By distributing the balls through schools, charities, children’s organisations and community groups, the initiative is expected to provide children in different communities with greater opportunities to participate in football and outdoor recreation.

With football being one of the most popular sports among young people in Botswana, the donation could provide much-needed equipment to schools and communities where access to sporting resources remains limited.

The organisers are calling on interested organisations and stakeholders to participate in the initiative and help identify communities and children who could benefit most from the donations.
