Noah Salakae Granted Bail as Prosecution Eyes Additional Suspects

Legal proceedings against Noah Salakae for alleged corruption officially commenced today, with Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Kgosietsile Ngakaagae informing the court that the defendants will have their pleas reserved. Ngakaagae also revealed that the prosecution intends to add more individuals to the charge sheet, though their identities remain strictly undisclosed at this stage.

The prosecution raised no general objections to bail, although the conditions varied significantly between the accused. The primary accused, Salakae, was granted bail set at P10,000. He is required to provide two Batswana sureties and must attend all future court proceedings when summoned.

Conversely, the second accused, Seby Jones, was subjected to notably stricter terms. Jones’s bail was set at P30,000, also requiring two Batswana sureties. Furthermore, the court ordered Jones to surrender all travel passports and report to the Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC) office in Gantsi once a month.

The matter has been adjourned and will proceed at a later date, pending the formal entry of pleas and the anticipated arraignment of the additional suspects.
